HT/FT means half time and full time, and it is one bet on two results: who is ahead at the break, and who wins the match. Both have to be right or the whole thing loses. It pays more than a straight win for exactly that reason.
What is HT/FT in SportyBet?
The same market, written as a pair. Left side is the half-time result, right side is full time, and each uses 1 for home, X for draw and 2 for away.
So 1/1 is home ahead at the break and home winning the game. X/2 is level at half time and the away side winning. Nine combinations exist, and every app in Nigeria prints them the same way whatever it calls the market.
What does HT/FT 2/1 mean?
Away team leading at half time, home team winning at full time. It is the comeback, and it is the reason this market exists at all.
2/1 and 1/2 are the two that pay the most, because a side has to lose the first half and then turn the match around after the break. If you are looking at a short price on a 2/1, read the fixture again. Something is wrong.
Today's HT/FT calls
Our rated half time and full time fixtures are on the live HT/FT table, one line per match with league, kick-off in WAT and the tip written in the same 1/X/2 pair your slip uses. The rest of today's card sits on the JoeOdds homepage, and the goals markets are on the over 2.5 table. Prices on this market move hard on team news, so check the app before you stake.
How do you win an HT/FT bet?
Pick the favourite that starts fast, or do not play. The whole bet turns on the first forty-five minutes, and a side that wins 1-0 with a seventieth-minute goal has just cost you the ticket even though it won the match.
Two things narrow it. Leagues where the home side scores early, and fixtures where the gap in quality is wide enough that the favourite does not need to feel its way in. The shorter the price on a 1/1, the more the market is expecting that early goal.
Why do the odds look so big?
Because you have bought two results with one stake. The same opinion costs more the moment half time is attached to it, and the less likely half of the pair is what sets the price.
Big numbers on a slip are not generosity. They are the bookmaker telling you what it thinks of your chances, and on this market it is usually telling the truth.
Questions people ask
How does half time full time work if the score is level at the break?
Then only the X selections are live. A match that is 0-0 at half time and 2-0 to the home side at the end settles X/1, and every other combination loses.
What is the correct score for HT/FT players?
There isn't one. Correct score and HT/FT are separate markets, though they overlap: a 1/1 needs the home side ahead at the break, so any scoreline where that is true will do.
Does extra time count for HT/FT?
No. Ninety minutes plus stoppage time, so a cup tie decided in extra time settles on the score after ninety. A goal in added time before the break counts for the half-time leg.
Is HT/FT better than double chance?
Different jobs. Double chance shortens the price to make a result safer; HT/FT lengthens it by asking for more.
